And to be fair, movies can never recreate every layer of a book. That’s just the reality of adaptations. But sometimes, as readers, we hope to see certain emotional beats, certain moments of vulnerability, certain silences that meant so much to us while reading.

For me, the novel created a much stronger emotional connection. The film was visually engaging and well-intentioned, but the book… the book just stayed longer.

And maybe that’s the beauty of reading. Some stories are simply meant to be felt slowly, in the quiet space between you and the page.
